Introduction

Hello! My name is Sarah Miller and I started the MAT program at Willamette University in January 2011. I live in Aloha, Oregon. I am married and I have one biological daughter who is nine and one foster daughter who is two. We also have three dogs, two cats, and one guinea pig. My kids keep me super busy and I spend most of the time doing activities with them. My nine year old is on swim team and swims three days a week and then also competes in swim meets at least one weekend a month. She also is on a soccer team and has practice once a week and then games on Saturdays. My two year old loves swimming also and usually swims once a week. Our family spends as much time as possible outside, sometimes even in the rain. Hello, we live in Oregon! :)

I graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and then went to work in the HR field. I now work part-time as a Human Resource Coordinator and a Substitute Teacher at Janus Youth Programs, Inc. and have been there for about 2 ½ years. I volunteered in my daughter’s Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms and I loved it. I was inspired by the children in the classroom and when I went back to work I realized how much I truly missed it. I would call in sick just to go work in the classroom and I decided that I truly wanted to be a teacher. I want to make a difference in the students’ lives and inspire them to learn. I am getting my endorsement in ECE and Elementary. I want to teach with students from Kindergarten to sixth grade.
